Industrial belt classification

1.Definition and classification

(1)Definition: Industrial belt, also known as transmission belt, is the transmission medium in the transmission belt system. The transmission belt system is a type of transmission system, including two or more pulleys with transmission belts on them. The pulleys can rotate the transmission belts without restriction.

(2) Classification:

◦ Rubber belt: Made of natural rubber or synthetic rubber, it has good flexibility and wear resistance and is widely used in power, metallurgy, chemical industry and other industries. According to demand, rubber belts can also be subdivided into various special-purpose conveyor belts such as oil-resistant, acid-resistant, alkali-resistant, and high-temperature resistant.

◦ Polyester fiber belt: Made of polyester fiber fabric and rubber, it has the characteristics of high strength, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance. It is suitable for long-distance transportation tasks in harsh environments such as mines and ports.

◦ Nylon belt: Made of nylon fabric and rubber, it also has excellent properties such as high strength, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance. It is widely used in medium and long-distance transportation in coal mines, building materials and other industries.

◦ Metal mesh belt: woven from metal wire, it has the characteristics of high temperature and corrosion resistance. It is particularly suitable for sintering furnaces, coke ovens and other equipment in high temperature environments.

◦ Transmission belt: used to transmit power, widely used in various mechanical equipment. Common transmission belts include V-belts (V-belts), toothed belts, etc. V-belts have a simple structure, are easy to manufacture and install, and are easy to use and maintain; toothed belts transmit power by meshing the belt teeth with the tooth grooves of the wheel, and have the advantages of accurate transmission ratio, compact structure, oil resistance and wear resistance.

2. Working principle

The working principle of industrial belts is based on the friction or meshing force between two or more rotating bodies. In the transmission system, a power-driven pulley (called a drive pulley) drives the transmission belt to move, thereby transmitting power or conveying materials.

3. Application field

The application of industrial belts covers almost all industrial fields that require power transmission. In the manufacturing industry, whether it is the automated assembly line on the automobile production line or the high-speed rotating parts in the textile machinery, they cannot do without the support of industrial belts. In addition, industrial belts also play a vital role in many industries such as agricultural machinery, mining machinery, food processing machinery, printing and packaging machinery, and logistics conveying systems.

4. Development trend

With the continuous improvement of industrial automation and intelligentization, the application of industrial belts in robots, automation equipment, precision instruments and other fields is also becoming more and more extensive. In the future, with the continuous emergence of new materials and technologies, industrial belts will pay more attention to lightweight, high-strength, high-precision and high-efficiency designs. They not only carry the basic function of transmitting power, but also provide more stable, reliable and efficient transmission solutions for high-end equipment through optimized design and the application of innovative materials.

In summary, as a key component in the mechanical transmission system, industrial belts have an irreplaceable position in modern industry. With the continuous advancement of technology and the continuous expansion of applications, industrial belts will continue to contribute their unique strength to industrial development.
